It becomes a little like an albatross ‘round the neck when trying to find time to write a new blog entry. And this one, the first in a long while, and the first of the new year - so much so, the term ‘Happy New Year’ is now redundant to this composition.
There are excuses. Good ones too. I went into the Christmas break full of anticipation that 2009 would not be as bad as is forecast. At least, I wouldn’t let it bring me down with everyone and everything else. And the festive few days I had off, were good. But New Year’s came, and a fortnight later I’m signing forms and being interviewed for witness statements. That’s all I’m going to, and in some cases, legally bound to say.
Still in between these little indiscretions, there are good excuses. Put a DIY head on, listened to the instructions given, and helped to erect 2 frames of what will eventually become the new workshop rooms for Kaimana. And there has been delayed, but progressive movement on the feature front. Thanks being to Liam O’Donnell who was great, but now we’ve moved on and finally welcomed About 9 on to the ‘featurebox’.
Also, been watching so good telly, film and DVDs. Amongst the best of these were Gavin and Stacey, Bill Bailey’s Tinselworm, C4’s Dead Set and I have also been pleasantly surprised by Oz and James’ Drink to Britain. Maybe mostly because James May was wearing a Keep Calm t-shirt for the entire first episode, but it’s another good series.
So, enough vegging out and welcome to Hand & Face circa 2009. This has been a long time coming, but it has come, so let’s assume this is the end of the barren patch, and carry on as normal.
Keep in touch,
Thom
