Tonight, there is an old devil moon. I don’t pretend to know the science, but I don’t wish to appear ignorant of it either. Much like walking a tightrope, this could go either way, and possibly horribly wrong. So, the Moon spins around the Earth, but not in a perfect circle, more like an oval shape, and it is tonight, that it will appear to be closer than we have seen it in a long time. 14% bigger, and a lot brighter than usual. Not that I have seen it, as the rain clouds have thwarted any attempt of me - or any other Pembrokeshire resident - catching a glimpse of this spectacle. There was also supposed to be an abumndance of shooting stars to accompany the ol’ devil, but alas, these weren’t visible either.

So anyway, onto better news. It’s finally on. The ‘Kaimana Features’ are up and running. What do you think so far? What did you think of Liam? ‘Isabella’ is a lovely track, and as well as the others on our site, he has a new song called ‘Little Box of Moonlight’ which was recorded too late to include on our page. The jury is still out on the layout. We’re going to let the artists decide. We’ll use their feedback to shape the way it looks over the course of its function.

The effort now is to try and keep it going for as long as possible, but we do understand that out of all the budding artists that we have waiting to showcase their talents, 12 features a year won’t cover a lot of ground, no matter how diverse the artists that we have.

The idea is also not to put diversity before talent. We love listening to a diverse range of artists and we don’t want to willingly banish any artist from sending us their music, but we’re going for something more than that. We’re going for well-played, intelligent music from each and every category. We never intend to shun a band because it sounds too much like an artist we’ve already had.

So, something else is going to have to be done. We’re currently thinking up a whole host of ideas for that, and we’ll get into it a little more probably after the New Year.

Interesting enough, I managed to get a look round Rooftops music venue, and a sneak look at the recording equipment and it’s sound. The studio is basic but set out nicely, but the sound quality from the track I was played was immense. Most of the stuff that Hand & Face release is bedroom recordings, and that suits us fine, but the difference is apparent, and it was homegrown enough of a sound to come out of the studio with it’s soul in tact. The musicianship was still there, the thought process was still very much at the forefront but the quality was there to behold and I think there is a case to be argued there at least.

I need to take some more photos. I don’t have a lot left in reserve, and I want to start showing off a little more of what I do here, rather than all my substance, or what little I have of it, be tied up in words. I will work on that, but in the meantime, if the words are what you’re here for, you could also check out the Hand & Face Twitter page. It’s a more personal thing than a professional thing, but for everyday ins and outs, could be interesting.

Right, time for me to pop off. See you soon
