The work has really started to pile in now. The Kaimana MySpace has been active for just over a week, and winter stock for the shop has started to arrive. I don’t mind telling you which I prefer more than the other, but at the moment, the job keeps the money rolling in.

We’ve had a good response over the last week with the Kaimana brand and project, reaching people as far and wide as Japan and Mexico. So far, we’ve had a lot of bands from all different categories of music get in touch wanting to be part of the project that we are trying to set up. I think it’s a telling sign that if you open yourself up to all music, so long as it sees itself as music, then you’re far better off than just pigeon-holing yourself.

We’re hoping to get the first of the licenses we’ve already sent out back by the end of the week, and we can start the process of gearing up the website for the future music project.

Yes, Kaimana has been busy. I feel like part of the company, and I want to help drive it forward. The shop is also moving to a location closer and definitely more accessible to the public. Everything will be firing on all cylinders soon enough. Don’t worry, Hand & Face is not taking a backseat to it, but it just seems to be that if I don’t do any work for Kaimana, then Hand & Face would have pretty much nothing to report back here.

So, tell me how you are. I know this site doesn’t get much traffic, and hopefully that will change soon, but I notice nobody uses the guest book so; I’m asking you, tell me how you are. It’d be good to hear from you.

In work today, I had a mammoth session of jazz, funk, chill and acoustic, all on CDs, which was nice, and that re-alerted me to the artwork of E. Araya, which I have known for a few years now. He draws for José González albums but his simple drawing really stand alone, and make a page seem fuller, almost warmer, when there is really nothing there.

It’s been a while since I posted a link, but this isn’t on the links page…. Yet. So, I thought I’d share it with you. Just cuz I’m that kinda guy. Also, as we’re ‘sharing’, check out a band called The Maple State, from Manchester. Share something with me.

All the best,

Thom
