I’ve always wanted to write reviews for artists and albums, but there’s always been something holding me back. The biggest two problems in writing reviews are hatred and pretention. I dislike both of these seemingly often used character traits by certain reviewers and critics. So, I could skip all that. But, I also don’t like it when avid fans list off track by track opinions, giving no less than 8/10 stars. That’s just not constructive.
So, I could just put up a weekly album that I like, and reel off a list of information about the bands and their albums, but that’d be no more than a trivia race. So, what to do? What to do? I figure, I’ll blog about what Hand & Face is listening to each week, whether that be old or new, picking out one or a few albums that has really been the soundtrack to our week. This way, you get a nice idea of what makes up the soundtrack to each week at Hand & Face. Some of which you may know or like, but you’ll never get a full-on negative blog about music. We’ll just sweep the things we don’t like under the carpet.
Lovely. Job done. So, look out for one of our listening posts soon.
